What to expect: From the grandfather clock in the oak-paneled lobby to the coat of arms on every guestroom door, this hotel celebrates its age while providing 21st-century amenities. Wall plaques commemorate many historic events here, including Alexander Graham Bell's first telephone call and Theodore Roosevelt's wedding reception.
