What to expect: Dating from 1885, the Langham was London's first purpose-built luxury hotel. Today the hotel has been transformed following an £80m refurbishment, exuding a graceful and timeless elegance. Commanding a position at the top of the elegant and sweeping boulevard of Regent Street, The Langham is perfectly located for both business and leisure guests.

Amenity highlights: Guests can enjoy acclaimed contemporary European cuisine in the gilded interior of The Landau restaurant, or relax with a cocktail in the glamorous Artesian bar. The centre piece of the hotel, the dazzling Palm Court, is home to The Langham's afternoon tea, with Champagne and other libations in the evening. The Health and Fitness Club has a gym, 16-metre pool, and saunas and steam rooms.

Insider tip: Across the street, All Souls Church is the last surviving church built by John Nash, architect of Regent Street, Regent's Park and Marble Arch. BBC Broadcasting House is next door to the church, and for over 40 years the BBC used All Souls to broadcast its daily religious service.

Guests can unwind in the Langham Health Club and Spa, which has a 16-metre heated indoor pool located in the unusual setting of an old bank vault. Access is complimentary for hotel guests and includes use of the pool, gym, and separate men's and women's saunas and steam rooms.

There are 15 function rooms, the largest of which is the lovingly restored Grand Ballroom. Sparkling crystal chandeliers and delicate period details echo the Grand Ballroom's rich heritage

DINING:
Artesian - Chic, glamorous cocktail bar designed by David Collins Studios. Rich interiors combine Far Eastern influences with romantically inspired touches. Specialising in rum but also classic and exotic signature cocktails.

The Landau - Elegant gilded interior and dramatic design created by acclaimed designer David Collins. Fine contemporary European cuisine, created by Andrew Turner, featuring British seasonal ingredients and a few intriguing twists.

Palm Court - The centre piece of the hotel, the dazzling Palm Court is home of The Langham's traditional afternoon tea. Light dining is available all day. Champagnes and other fine libations are served evenings.
